Electric-galvanized mesh is prone to rusting. It is typically used for construction applications such as plaster work or concrete reinforcement.

Hot-dipped galvanized mesh is almost rust-free. It is not affected by humid environments or rainfall. When used under typical conditions, it can be used for 15–20 years without rusting.

Pre-galvanized welded wire mesh is an economical choice. Galvanized after welding is a premium choice.

For PVC-coated welded wire mesh, there are two PVC coating types (PVC powder). They are priced almost the same, with only minor differences in appearance. However, customers in different regions may prefer one type over the other. The main difference is coating hardness: the rigid type provides stronger adhesion and a smoother surface, while the soft type’s coating is easier to damage. Why do some customers still choose the soft type? When applying PVC coating to iron wires of the same diameter, the softer type—although generally less durable than the harder type—has a thicker plastic layer due to added foaming agents. Some customers may prefer the soft type due to its greater overall coating thickness.
