We supply stainless steel knitted wire mesh (304, 316L), copper, brass, Monel, and aluminum knitted wire mesh in standard rolls, custom-cut pieces, and fully fabricated components. We support applications such as demister pads, compression gaskets, EMI shielding strips, and catalyst supports, engineering solutions to your exact specifications.

Knitted Wire Mesh: Premium Flexible Metal Mesh for Industrial Filtration and Sealing

Knitted wire mesh is a metal wire or plastic strand knitted into an interlocking looped-mesh structure—similar to the way stockings are made. It should not be confused with woven mesh, which consists of parallel wires arranged to form rectangular openings. Knitted mesh offers flexibility that woven mesh cannot match: because the loops can shift relative to one another, the mesh provides two-way stretch. This flexibility makes knitted mesh a distinct advantage for many industrial applications.

Material

Metal wire:

stainless steel wire 304, 304L, 316, 316L; galvanized wire; brass wire; copper wire; titanium wire; alloy wire; nickel wire;

Non-metal wire:

nylon wire; PE wire; PTFE wire; PVDF wire; fiberglass wire, etc.

Core Advantages of Knitted Wire Mesh

· Superior Flexibility and Conformability: Wraps easily around irregular surfaces and maintains shape under compression—ideal for custom knitted wire mesh gaskets and seals.

· High Porosity and Low Flow Resistance: Up to 95% open area supports efficient fluid flow while capturing particles—suitable for filtration and gas-liquid separation.

· Exceptional Resilience: Retains elasticity even after repeated compression and temperature fluctuations, helping extend service life.

· Corrosion and Heat Resistance: Premium alloy options are designed to withstand harsh chemical, marine, and high-temperature environments.

· Multi-Functional Performance: Combines filtration, sealing, vibration damping, and EMI shielding capabilities in a single material.

· Cost-Effective Fabrication: Easy to cut, shape, and form into complex components without specialized tools, helping reduce production costs.
